Goodwill Outlets In Wisconsin

There are a total of 3 Goodwill Outlets, and Goodwill Bins, located in Milwaukee, Appleton and Sturtevant, Wisconsin.

Generally, the Goodwill Outlets located in Wisconsin are less competitive and aggressive compared to other thrift stores. If you’re familiar with Goodwill Bins, you probably know how competitive the shoppers can get. Here, you can shop in peace with thrifty individuals and re-sellers alike.

What are Goodwill Outlets?

Imagine you enter a large warehouse with dozens of large blue plastic bins full of unsorted merchandise. Everything is charged by the pound, giving you the chance to rummage through unorganized goods to find the most valuable items. When you get rung up, you’re charged a fraction of the retail price.

This is  a wonderland for rummagers and attracts all types of shoppers. Re-sellers and flippers frequent these places because of how good of a sourcing opportunity it presents on a daily basis. New bins, full of fresh merchandise, are rotated into these outlet stores every single day. If you want a less competitive shopping experience, it’s recommended to arrive a few hours after the store opens.

If you don’t fear the competition, or are a competitive shopper or flipper yourself, you can join the fray. If this is you, here are some tips:

Make sure to come prepared early in the morning with a set of gloves and a large shopping bag, as the Goodwill carts may go quickly. And based on the Goodwill outlet you’re shopping at, shoving between highly competitive shoppers is normal and to be expected. Remember, people make their full-time livings doing this.

If you don’t find anything on your first visit, remember that there are new bins full of items that are rotated every single day. With consistency and a little luck, you’ll be sharpening your thrifting skills and striking gold in no time. Goodluck.

Not the traditional store. All merchandise was in rolling bins. Items sold by weight. Disappointing experience.

This was the least busy bin store I've ever been to. There was plenty of parking. The bathrooms were clean and the bins full. This store is 2 hours from my home in southeastern WI and I will be back.

Whenever I'm visiting family from out of state, we always stop by. Tons of junk, but also some really fantastic deals. It's by the pound (mostly), so brand-new items are as cheap as the hum-drum. Worth a trip if you love rummaging!

Probably THE worst goodwill outlet to go to. 2 hour rotation times are you kidding me? Must not care about money doing the bare minimum work. Not to mention the rude and bossy staff make it feel like your back in middle school with how they treat customers, adding new “rules” and policies each day. Also make it feel like they want you in and out, can’t leave your cart parked or bring drinks or food in. NOT EVEN WATER! Hopefully someone higher up see’s this and changes things because I’ve seen the ammount of people that shop here decline heavily in the past 2 years. Get it together Goodwill.

The prices are very good, but you have to be patient to dig around and find what you like. It's convenient that they have a weight scale on the side of the registers to see how much your stuff would cost (didn't notice till my 2nd visit). Bring gloves to dig around because of sharp or broken things and it can get dirty. I was disappointed with my 1st visit as to how much I paid for the little amount of things I had weighed in the cart. Gave it another chance to finally see how things flow and got a better deal the 2nd visit with my stuff being weighed on the counter. I feel it's cheaper to have your stuff weighed on the counter than in a cart and weighed on the floor mat.

For those wondering, you basically dig through the bins at your leisure and toss wanted items into your cart. You pay by weight for things like clothes, making them far cheaper than those you would buy at the regular Goodwill stores. The quality is very hit or miss though, there are a lot of items that I wouldn't touch without gloves on. The occasional hit is absolutely worth the time investment though, the prices are simply unbeatable for thrift shopping. With how often they swap bins in and out, I almost always leave with at least one full bag The Outlet is also a hotspot for resellers. Every time new bins are put out, there is always a stampede of people wanting to dig through them to find things to sell before anyone else can grab them. I tend to avoid new bins until the crowd dies down a bit, but that does mean that I can potentially miss out on things that I would have otherwise wanted. If you are looking for brand new or name brand things, be prepared to quickly dig through new bins

The outlet is awesome you can find a lot of cool stuff. But I didn't write this review to talk about the outlet, I'm writing this review to talk about all the people complaining about the regulars. All you cry babies know you could do the same thing they do right? I get it it's not convenient for most people but that doesn't give you the right to complain. Go buy the stuff new if you don't want to deal with "regulars" stop being such a cheap person. Also for all the people saying all the regulars resale stuff, I had a nice conversation with a gentleman who is a regular and he collects the stuff he doesn't sell it. So stop acting like you know everything, cuz you don't

Today was very busy. It seemed that most people had a cart, as the cart corral was empty except for maybe two or three left. Most who had carts are regulars, who sell what they buy, and once the bins have been sifted through, move on to the next row of bins to be exchanged for new items. Because of the crowd today, the people waiting in the aisles with their carts for fresh bins left very little room to walk, and we're blocking access to the bins others would like to look through. Most were standing around conversing with others, blind to the fact that other customers would like to dig through the bins too. None were rude, and would move if asked, but there has to be a better way.

hoarders are there every time I have been there. This location needs to limit their time at the outlet period! One got up in my face once. You should be limited one Cart per shopping trip. Have also seen these rude regulars full on eating food inside the store since when did Goodwill turn into a restaurant? Yall need to do something about this hoarders that make it unnecessarily impossible for non regulars to shop before you are sued under the Americans with Disabilities Act because these folks sure do not make it easy for folks with disabilities to shop.

This Bin location is the cleanest most organized one I have been to. The staff is very nice, lots of friendly regulars that will help you out with tips. I drive an extra hour just to come here, 3.5 hrs each way.
