Goodwill Outlets In Indiana

In Indiana, there are a total of 4 Goodwill Outlets, or Goodwill Bins, where you can pay per pound for clothing, home goods, toys, and more.

If you’re looking for a treasure hunt, this is the modern way to find high-value items to collect or re-sell for a profit. However, like any treasure hunt, Goodwill Outlets are known to have rude employees and competitive customers. It comes with the territory. It’s not always like this, but it’s good to come prepared.

For those who are visiting fro the first time, there are a few tips that will make your experience better. First, each Goodwill Outlet has rules that employees enforce to ensure overly-aggressive and ravenous customers don’t ruin the experience for everyone. Also, bring gloves! Some bins will include toys and glass home goods, which may cut your hand if you’re not careful while you sort through the large blue bins. Lastly, come early in the morning for the best opportunity to strike when the new bins of merchandise get rotated in. Bring your own large bag, like an IKEA bag, incase the carts run out.

Overall, this is a hotspot for people who are willing to dig for some treasure. It’s all charged by weight (for example, $1.99/lb).

If you don’t find anything on your first visit, remember that there are new bins full of items that are rotated every single day. With consistency and a little luck, you’ll be sharpening your thrifting skills and striking gold in no time. Goodluck.

I like the Gary Goodwill outlet because of so much stuff they bring to the floor daily. Every 20 minutes or so they rotate clothing, shoes, or household items. The major drawback of the store is the aggressive nature of many of the younger adults who will cut you off or even try to grab items out of your hands. Management is aware of these people but do little to enforce the rules. I've watched hundreds of people break the rules from old ladies grabbing items before they were allowed to, to the younger adults I talked about above. It's a great store with great deals. But you have these lifer kids there who literally stay from open to close 7 days a week. Also, keep an eye out on your cart! I've had things taken from mine before!!!

And to topped it off when it was time to check out I proceed to the cashier to weight my stuff an was told to put the shopping cart to weigh everything came out to be 30 buck 🥹😀😬I only got a couple things . I had to stop the Cashier and withdraw some stuff off my cart I think that is robbing people the cart is heavy weight about 4to 8 pound

Went to one today in Gary Indiana. It was amazing but you better be prepared to stay a few hours. All patrons were cordial and respectful to other shoppers. The workers were all very nice as well. Great trip and I will be back!!

I love Goodwill outlet. I shop here for all my household and family needs. I love vintage and I get all my vintage stuff here. The only problem I have is that sometimes I feel like the workers are buddies with some of the people that shop there and they don't use their rules for them. some of the customers are extremely rude and park their carts in your way and do not care. The employees will announce that they are going to move the carts if no one claims them but they never actually do. screaming and crying and they say nothing. I feel like this is an issue that they need to take up with their employees.

All the employees i encountered was extremely rude. When they switch out bins they was only switching out 1/2 of them. The 2.5 hours i was there bc i had bought a couch chair Ottoman and was waiting for it to get picked up they never switched out the bins up by cash register area. But i got the Kroehler living room set for a steal $45.00

The most stressful experience all week for several different reasons. First off All of the items are in large bins rather than clothing racks and shelves and every hour they rotate bins. So you only have a hour to go through the unorganized cluster. Once the new bins are out and they announce that you can now shop (which btw you can barely hear the announcements) everyone rushes to the bins like Black Friday at Walmart. And everyone has a cart so getting through the rows is rather difficult nor are the rows wide enough. So you end up walking out feeling like you just did a HIIT workout and there's no drinks or water to buy on your way out to cater to your thirst and exhaustion. I kept waiting to see people get into a fight over a item like you see during Black Friday madness. Simply not worth it. I'd rather spend a little bit of gas money and go goodwill hoping instead

All the fun and excitement of dumpster diving, but with a timer and competition involved! If this game show of a store sounds like your idea of a good time, then you'll fit right in with the madness. Blue bins of as-is cast-off items from other Goodwills are carted in on the hour, and all shoppers are forced to the side walls while the bins are swapped out, and then, like dogs at the starting mark, people will swarm the floor at the given signal and rabidly sift through the items, some of which may be the perfect find, or might be broken garbage. Gloves and hand sanitizer come highly recommended for sorting through everything, which may or may not be infested with God-knows-what. Everything is sold by the pound, which is fantastic for thrifty, eagle-eyed shoppers looking to cheaply outfit their home or flip on an internet market for a quick few bucks. Recommended spot if you enjoy shopping and/or consumerism spectacle.

First time making it to the bins and it was worth it! If you like fast paced scavenger hunts this is the place. Rules are not clearly posted so that made me anxious but staff was very nice

It has good prices and inventory is rotated every hour I think and is in big blue bins the only downside is that when looking through a bin other people are as well but some people don't know simple respect to give another some space

You need gloves and a few hours to enjoy this place. Its quite noisy during busy times and the first Saturday of the month is always chaotic. You can find cheap cheap furniture, rugs, curtains, and blankets. Baskets, bins, laundry hamper etc. They charge by the pound so if you get heavy items like toys, metal things(tools, organizers, small kitchen stuff, etc) outside items(decor etc) it can get expensive quick. They price the big furniture separately. They also always have a few bins of shoes.

Unfortunately my opinion of this place has gone down SIGNIFICANTLY since they opened. This has hurt my rating for the store. Everyone please do their part to make Goodwill Outlet great again! THE ROTATION - F - Rotation is everything at the Goodwill Outlet. The store is laid out so bins can quickly be changed out. Fast rotations rarely happen. People fail to follow directions. They will lag, continuing to shopping in the bins. Then they'll take their time getting to the wall or walk across the entire store while the majority wait. PRICING - B The pricing is simple. With the exception of individually priced items, everything is 1.69 per pound. Each register is equipped with a cart scale and a counter scale. Checkout is a painless process. THE MERCHANDISE - D When the store opened it was great! Treasure finds were plentiful. These days they're over-picked in the back. It's often crowded enough you can't get anything. I stopped going on the weekends because I rarely found anything. They focus on safety during bin rotation but you'll often find broken glass, sharp knives, and more sharps right after rotation. THE TAKEAWAY: You can still often find overlooked treasures. Bring gloves and wash your hands before you leave. Expect a lot of things to be broken in some way. Be patient. Be courteous. Ask for a discount on very heavy items. Be prepared to be disappointed on the weekend.

3 rotaions in a row on a Saturday they only changed 6 clothing bins and 10 wares bins! Over 100 shoppers in the store. Not possible to spread out and social distance. Adequate staffing, but too many employees pulling the good stuff from the bins in the back. doors didnt open unto 9:06 today. then they cancelled the 10 o’clock. customers show up for 9 am and nothing has been changed from the night before. clothing coming out in subsequent rotations, meaning bins are being reused to meet quotas. frustrating when we show up to spend money here.

If I go shopping then I want to shop but, they spend 20-30 minutes making everyone move against the walls so they can change 5-7 bins and they say it's for safety reasons but, yet broken glass and garbage in most bins, so why don't they just exchange half or a fourth of the bins so people can still shop because I don't want to shop with people right beside me anyway and I like looking at the bins that's nobody's around and just shop for clothing. Corporate of Clarksville goodwill outlet store please fix this problem, I've also heard them yell at a man for walking to the bathroom & they say; "that's not allowed during bin change" How embarrassing?

100% my favorite store. $1.29 for 1lb of anything. They also sell cheap furniture. You can find some good deals. Definitely like to go here to get clothes because they are cheaper than anywhere else and you can find name brand clothes.

This place is decent, lots of hidden gems. It seems like they change the bins every hour on the hour so be very quick & don't take ur time! It's basically a job, it'd be wise to make a list of what you want & come with a crew. Literally got a cart full of merch cost less than $50

If you have time to search through the bins you will find treasures you didn't even know you needed. I was looking for shorts, but I found several other items. One of the best things was a brand new, fully lined Comfy in perfect condition, a newer looking Northface lightweight hooded zip up spring jacket in great condition, a like new bathing suit, fleece top and another shirt. I got it all for under $10.00!!! You pay by the weight....it is under $2 per pound.

Even though they say you're "not supposed to" fill carts and set them aside with blankets hiding whats in them this seems to be a thing with people that run in the second they open put all single shoes in carts leaving none for the rest. It's rude and inconsiderate and the staff let them do it. So good luck finding anything at all. It's all in people's carts that they won't end up buying but throwing back right before they close. Unless you plan on spending the whole entire day waiting on them to put things back it's not worth even looking. What a shame

As far as the outlet stores go this is one of the cleaner buildings. The inventory like all outlets is heavily rotated but seems more shoe and clothing inclined on average. The staff aren't as angry at the world as the rude employees at other outlets around the city tend to act if you need help. If you've never been to an outlet the way things work may surprise you. Don't expect the typical layout of aisles of shelving filled with hard goods and racks of clothing to select from. Instead youll find perfectly aligned rows of picnic table sized rolling shallow walled bins.
