Goodwill Outlets In Illinois

Illinois has 1 Goodwill Outlet located in Jacksonville, Illinois.

While the Goodwill.org website shows that there are multiple Goodwill Outlets in Illinois, they are either corporate offices or have been permanently closed. For example, the Rockford, IL Goodwill Outlet was permanently closed in 2021 during the pandemic.

With that said, Goodwill outlet is a hotspot for people who are willing to dig for some treasure. Get your hands dirty and get rewarded for it, especially if you’re a re-seller looking for items to flip for a profit.

With more re-sellers and vintage collectors than ever before, make sure to come prepared early in the morning with a set of gloves and a large shopping bag, as the Goodwill carts may go quickly. And based on the Goodwill outlet you’re shopping at, shoving between highly competitive shoppers is normal and to be expected.

If you don’t find anything on your first visit, remember that there are new bins full of items that are rotated every single day. With consistency and a little luck, you’ll be sharpening your thrifting skills and striking gold in no time. Goodluck.

This is a great place to shop. Yes, you have to dig in boxes or bins to find things, but the prices are low and its what you expect going into a wearhouse. Wear close toed shoes. No kids under 16 allowed in the shopping area. Workers and shoppers are kind and helpful!

It was my first time. I like it up until a women ripped stuff out of my hand and put it in her cart. Its a great place for resellers to get inventory but just understand people fight for products and the staff are no where to be seen so your on your own. And what little staff are there are teenagers so there not going to be much help anyway.

I love it! This is a great location with lots of variety to choose from. There was a lot of new with tags items as well. A nice selection of items per bin and not overflowing. There are two rows of home items as well which is a lot more than other locations. For the price it is worth it! Children are allowed and it is very neat and organized. I had a nice time!

80% of the bins are clothes which is a let down for me. Not very many bins of miscellaneous items. I was there for over 2 hours & not once was a row of miscellaneous bins were switched out. A lot of items are literal trash & garbage but I mean it’s understandable because it’s not practical to nip pick the bins. I figure the staff just loads up the bins & send them out. Staff is very friendly & place is clean for the time being. My personal opinion I prefer the outlet in Gary Indiana by a long shot. I don’t think I’ll be coming back to this location unless they add more miscellaneous bins & actively rotate them. If you’re into hunting clothes then you might enjoy it.

I went in today and walked out after 5 minutes. It was was clothes! The clothes wasn’t even organized in color, sizes, gender, kids, etc. It’s literally just kids, men’s, and woman’s clothes dumped on tables. Plus there is no fitting rooms!!! WHAT?! High downfall and failed project.

Takes some digging and patience to find items worthy to take home but makes for a good treasure hunt
