Goodwill Outlets In Michigan

Michigan hosts 4 Goodwill Outlets, or Goodwill Bins, situated in Grandville and Flint.

These outlets offer pre-owned goods at slashed prices. If you’re a newbie at Goodwill Outlet or Goodwill Bins, brace yourself for encounters with resellers and competitive shoppers. Since everything is priced by weight, you can snap up branded items for a steal.

Given the surge in resellers and vintage collectors, it’s wise to arrive early armed with gloves and a spacious bag. Expect some jostling for the Goodwill carts, particularly at bustling locations.

If your first visit doesn’t yield any treasures, don’t fret. Fresh bins of merchandise rotate daily. Stay consistent, and you’ll polish your thrifting skills in no time. Best of luck!

The place is great in general. It’s the people that is the problem. I am blown away by peoples disrespect towards others, and the merchandise that are in the bins. Some of it being coffee pots, records etc. tearing things up is just ridiculous! These ‘people’ need to settle down, respect others and their personal space. There’s enough time and items for everyone!!

Absolutely terrible... It was so disgusting and dirty! The shoppers were vultures waiting for the next cart to be brought out from the back. My friend went into the back where there were signs clearly marked stating more shopping this way when one of what I'm assuming was an employee grabbed his cart and began pushing it into him he didn't say anything no hey you cant be back here we will bring the items out in carts nothing just rudely and violently began pushing his cart into him. Thankfully my friend turned and walked away.. other wise this could have turned out very badly. Terrible shopping experience. Will never go back there again

First and foremost, this is not the cleanest or safest place. Gloves are a must. I've been here many times when I used to resell items as a side hustle. Be aware, lots of resellers are always here. Some resellers get crazy and are literally prepared to fight you over a stupid pair of shoes. I understand the whole game but that's just so unnecessary. Besides that, what was extremely irritating to me, was those who come in a lot, have people on the inside hiding really good items in the bins and letting them know before the bins come out where they hide it, so they can position themselves where the bin is going. It's very obvious and blatant. They will deny this over and over and won't do anything about it because they're all in on it. They need to hire upstanding people. Not cool as a company, Goodwill.

There's a lot of digging through the bins. And a lot of scavengers. I was told to move more than once, people would come push my cart away and step in front of me. Then we got evacuated for a fire in the back. Once back in they took a whole row of bins to fill them back up. I saw people over there looking at the bins so I went over. I made a mistake and picked up a dress and got told that I wasn't supposed to touch anything until they had the whole row back in. Some really rude shoppers and staff. Probably won't ever go back

Good luck finding anything decent if the regulars are there, as they pay the workers to hide good stuff and place it in the bins in front of them when they do rotations. You can find some good stuff, but be prepared to deal with overly pushy people who lack boundaries or a sense of personal space.

You can find some nice stuff, usually pretty clean. But some workers are extremely rude to everyone for no reason whatsoever.

I visit this outlet location quite often. The staff is great and even most of the resellers are fun to chat with. I being one of them. Most days it is not too busy so getting into a new bin is rather easy. I have found some great stuff. Sometimes the shoes will be separated and I think the workers might do that for fun. My very first visit I was yelled at for not waiting until all the new bins were in place. That was intimidating but I understand why now. I was just reading reviews on the Grandville location. I have never been to that one. It sounds like a horrible place. Like night/day to my location. I won't spend the gas money to go there. Hope my review was helpful.

I had a lot of fun at this store. You have to go in having time to spend, because all of the items are dumped onto big tables, and you have to pick through them. They weigh your goods and charge you by the pound. So I got a huge bag of shirts and dresses for the same price as my sister paid for a few pairs of jeans, because the jeans ended up being a lot heavier. I did end up finding quite a few higher-end pieces by digging through the bins. I was really happy with what I ended up with. Also, I did not see a fitting room so I did my best to just try stuff on over what I was wearing, and for the most part that worked out.

Went to the Goodwill last chance store. I was very disappointed to find used goods with new goods price stickers! They do NOT discount any of that sticker color. For being a discounted used goods store that was unable to sell at full price in-store and not have these discounted is not a smart business move. Pricing used goods with new goods stickers is outrageous. Not sure what has happened to this company but they do not separate anything but puses and bags. All other tables are just products that didn't sell in store. The expectation that someone comes in to go through all tables to try to find something kinda specific makes no sense. They used to at least separate men's, women's, kids and bedding. Now just piles of everything. Will not be wasting my time as also found prices gone crazy.

This is a neat Goodwill! They put all of the clothes on tables and they're sold by weight. A lot if "obsolete" technology such as vhs tapes, 8 tracks, records and 'old' video games. Priced appropriately as well most other Goodwill locations have ridiculously priced stuff here however things are priced much more appropriate for the title 'thrift store'. Update 4 20 22 Things were still nice as I remembered it from my last visit, prices were still good but they lacked non clothing items.

Very bad, highest price per pound I’ve ever seen at a Goodwill Outlet, rotation is not within the realm of being comparable to any Goodwill Outlet I’ve ever entered in the country, so slow infact that they will not remember which bin was last rotated, which means everything in the last rotated bin has been picked through by everyone entering the store for the last 24-48 hours, which means you will find nothing of value here for less than you pay at any other outlet, the Goodwill retail store down the street is not better, they’ve pulled anything good before putting it on the floor. I’ve unsuccessfully tried to find anything of value at either many times, skip these.

Amazing experience! A few pro tips: 1. Be prepared to spend the day or a big chunk of times. New bins are rotated slowly so come knowing if you want to find treasures you have to stick around. 2. Bring gloves! The bins are random and there’s a good chance that there’s sharp stuff inside. 3. If you want clothes - wear something you can try on over. 4. If a bin is covered - don’t touch it! Wait until the sheet is removed otherwise you will get yelled at. Stand in the circle around the bin and when the sheet is removed it’s fair game!

I've been coming to the bins for years now and its so much fun...especially when my mom and I go together and we meet my sister and niece to do some shopping as a group, keeping an eye out for stuff for the other person... Yea, its crazy and hectic but thats the joy of the experience.. Digging for the next treasure... Its a resellers paradise.

Very crowded. It is like a free for all here. No organization at all. U do get great deals if u can find what u are looking for here ....but it is a mad rush inside. Very disorganized. They fill up long bins and tell the customers to go thru them to find what they want ....whereas other goodwill locations are organized, priced, etc and u can walk down the isle to select your items. Here, u rummage thru long bins and it makes u feel like u are a scavenger

I love Goodwill outlets! These are hidden gems that I live for!!! I love rummaging through the bins and have found many name brand items, some new with tags. I recommend going with gloves and an open schedule because you could be here for hours.
